E1 only appears on a start from a warm room. If the cellar reads above 75°F at power-up and the sensor sees too little cooling within 45 minutes, the Sentry III stops the unit and flashes E1 in turn with the temperature. Breezaire wine cellar cooling unit display What to do when E1 shows on the wine cellar cooling unit ### Kind of code Temperature and alarms The controller saw the cellar go past a high or low limit and raised an alarm, sometimes holding the worst reading it logged while the house was empty. The reason can be as small as the cellar door left ajar after a tasting or a long outage, a room gaining heat from new lights or a sunny glass wall, or as serious as cooling that has stopped. Each step comes from Breezaire's own guidance for E1 on its wine cellar cooling units. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Keep the cellar door closed; Breezaire asks for this during the first cool-down so the unit is not fighting outside air. 02 Check the warm side: the exhaust grille needs about 3 feet of open air and a ventilated room to throw heat into. 03 Restart with a manual reset, holding WARMER for at least 5 seconds, or unplug the unit for 10 minutes or more. 04 If E1 comes back on the next start, feel whether the exhaust air is warm, note it, and book a visit. ### Still there? Keep the cellar door closed; Breezaire asks for this during the first cool-down so the unit is not fighting outside air. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Why did my newly installed Breezaire show E1? A new cellar often starts well above 75°F, and fresh wood, paint and concrete add moisture that slows the first pull-down. With the door open or a cramped exhaust side, the unit can miss the 45-minute check and stop with E1. ### Is it safe to keep restarting a Breezaire after E1? One or two restarts with the door shut and the exhaust clear are reasonable. If it stops again every time, more restarts only run a unit that is not moving heat, so book a visit. ### Can a Breezaire WKSL split show E1 too? Yes, the WKSL runs the same Sentry III, so the same start-up check applies.
