LA is the low temperature alarm, the counterpart of HA. With default settings it comes on once the cellar reads more than 10° under the setpoint for longer than the alarm delay, and it clears itself when the temperature returns. The controller leaves its outputs as they were. Wine-Mate wine cellar cooling unit display What to do when LA shows on the wine cellar cooling unit ### Kind of code Temperature and alarms The controller saw the cellar go past a high or low limit and raised an alarm, sometimes holding the worst reading it logged while the house was empty. The reason can be as small as the cellar door left ajar after a tasting or a long outage, a room gaining heat from new lights or a sunny glass wall, or as serious as cooling that has stopped. Check the setpoint; Wine-Mate recommends 55°F for aging wine. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Is LA on my display related to the -LA in my model number? No. On the display, LA is the low temperature alarm; at the end of a Wine-Mate split model number, LA means the condensing unit has a low ambient kit for sites below 50°F. ### Can a Wine-Mate warm a cellar that is too cold? The cooling unit does not heat, but controllers with the heater function can switch a forced-air heater through the SAA and SHy settings. With the factory values the heater comes on at 36°F and goes off at 40°F. ### Why does LA show when my thermometer says the room is fine? The probe may be sitting in the cold supply air or may need calibrating.
