A healthy unit runs in cycles long enough to cool the room and pull moisture out of the air, then rests. When the cycles shrink to a few minutes, something is stopping the run early. The simplest cause is a unit much larger than the room: it cools the air near the sensor fast and shuts off before the walls, the racks and the bottles have cooled, and before much water has left the air. A sensor in a cold draft from the unit's own supply does the same. Other causes are protective: an overheating compressor switches itself off and restarts when it cools, a pressure control trips on a hot exhaust side or a low charge, or a controller with too tight a differential keeps flicking on and off.
