Book a visit

Book a wine cellar cooling unit
repair visit.

One form books a cellar cooling visit, with no card number asked. You owe nothing until the technician has looked at the unit and the room and explained what they need.

Book a visit

Three short steps, about a minute.

or call (844) 398-5977

What the form asks,
and why.

Your notes are read before the technician leaves, so the probe, fan motor or drain part your unit takes is more likely to be on board. Sending the form commits you to nothing, and a price comes only once the diagnosis is done.

Have the model number to hand if you can find it: where the rating plate is covers the usual places.

Step oneThe unit and what the room is doing

Through-the-wall, ducted, split or ceiling-mounted, the make, and whether the cellar is warming, running cold, dripping, icing up, running without a break or restarting every few minutes. That picks the technician and the probes, fan motors and drain parts that ride along.

Step twoA window that fits your week

Morning or afternoon, on the day that suits you, with a note if the cellar is only reachable when someone is home.

Step threeReaching the cellar and the exhaust side

Where the cellar is, and where its heat goes: the room behind a through-wall unit, the attic or closet that holds a ducted one, the yard or roof where a split condenser sits. Add a phone number for the day, whether you own or rent, and any gate code, ladder need or pet we should know about.

After you book,
the visit.

The three steps above are the booking. These four are what happens once a technician is in your cellar.

What repairs cost
01

The room and the unit, both measured

The technician reads the cellar's temperature and humidity, the air going in and coming off the coil, and the heat at the exhaust side, then checks the door seal, the drain and whatever the room itself may be adding to the load.

02

The cause and the figure, before any work

You hear what failed and what it costs to put right, then choose. If the unit is undersized for the room, or the room is the real problem, the technician tells you that plainly.

03

Common cellar parts in the van

Probes, fan motors, capacitors, relays, drain fittings and condensate pumps often come along. Model-specific parts such as a compressor, a controller or a coil are ordered, and a model number in the booking gets that order moving sooner.

04

The cellar heading back to 55°F

After the repair the technician watches the unit start, the fans turn and the drain carry water away, confirms the room is falling toward its set point, and tells you how long the cellar needs before it is fully settled.

Before the
technician arrives.

Three things that make the first visit the only one.

What a code means

Keep the cellar door closed

Every time it opens, warm house air rolls in over the racks. Go in only to take bottles out, and if the room passes about 70°F or the wait is long, move the bottles you value most to the coolest dark place in the house rather than checking on them.

Note what the controller shows

Write down the set point, the room reading, any humidity figure and any code or blinking light. Codes are not shared between makers, so the brand matters as much as the characters.

Clear the way to both sides

Make room at the grille inside the cellar and at the exhaust side, whether that is a closet, a garage wall, an attic hatch or a condenser in the yard. It also helps to know when it started and what happened around then: an outage, a heat wave, new lighting, a door left propped, work on the house.

Where we
come out.

Nine metros. If your street is not listed, give the address in the form and we will say straight away.

Questions
about booking.

Does it cost anything to book a cellar cooling visit?
No. There is no deposit and no card number at booking. The technician finds the cause, explains the repair and its figure, and waits for your yes before any part goes in.
Where is the rating plate on a cellar cooling unit?
A through-the-wall unit usually has it on a side of the housing, which may be easiest to read from the exhaust side; a ducted unit on its cabinet in the attic or closet; a split system on both the evaporator and the outdoor condenser. If you cannot reach it, book anyway and the technician will read it at the visit.
Can I book the cellar visit by phone instead?
Yes. The number and our hours are in the header of every page. A call and the form reach the same team, and the form still works when the lines are busy.
Will the technician tell me if the cellar unit is not worth repairing?
Yes, at the diagnosis and with the reasons, so you are never quoted a repair that makes no sense. A through-wall unit with a failed compressor after many summers and a split system with one bad fan motor call for very different answers, and working out which you have is part of the visit.
