What E7
actually means.

CellarCool's split and ducted systems put the keypad on a display cable, often some distance from the unit. E7 appears when the keypad and circuit board have had no communication for 60 seconds. It usually follows damage to that cable or a plug pulled partly out, and less often a failing keypad or board.

What to do when E7 shows on the wine cellar cooling unit

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from CellarCool's own guidance for E7 on its wine cellar cooling units. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Check the display cable where it plugs into the keypad.

02

Follow the cable as far as you can for kinks, staples or a frayed jacket.

03

If the cable looks sound and E7 stays, book a visit.

Still there?

It usually turns into wine cellar cooling diagnostic visit. Book with the code and the model number.

What not to do

E7 says nothing about cooling performance; the unit can still be running. It only means you cannot trust or change what the keypad shows.

Questions
about E7.

Can I clear E7 myself?
Check the display cable where it plugs into the keypad. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Can I move my CellarCool keypad to fix E7?
Moving it does not help unless the cable itself was damaged on the old route. The fix is a sound cable and good plugs at both ends.
Does E7 on a CellarCool stop cooling?
Not necessarily. The keypad has lost the board, but the board may keep running the unit.
Which CellarCool models can show E7?
Models with the separate keypad: Ceiling Mount, split and Ultimate units. The CX through-wall controller does not list it.

Back to your everyday

Still showing E7?

When you book, type the code or the blink count as the controller shows it, add the full model number, and say what the thermometer in the cellar reads now — that gives the technician a head start.
