What EA
actually means.

EA on a CellarCool split, Ceiling Mount or Ultimate unit means condensate is not leaving the drip tray. CellarCool lists four causes: the unit is not level, the drain line is clogged, the condensate pump is not working, or the wire to the D.I. port on the board has come loose. The unit refuses to run until the water drops, so the cellar warms while EA is active.

What to do when EA shows on the wine cellar cooling unit

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from CellarCool's own guidance for EA on its wine cellar cooling units. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Switch the unit off and check for water on the wall, racks or floor; stay clear of anything electrical that is wet.

02

Check that the evaporator is level and that the drain line is clear and falls all the way to its outlet.

03

Listen for the condensate pump; if it is silent, check that it has power.

04

If the tray does not empty, book a visit.

What not to do

EA is not a refrigeration failure; the unit stops to keep water off your walls. CellarCool warns that a clog inside the unit must not be opened without its authorization, or the warranty may be void.

Questions
about EA.

Can I clear EA myself?
Switch the unit off and check for water on the wall, racks or floor; stay clear of anything electrical that is wet. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Why does my CellarCool keep showing EA in humid weather?
A cellar that lets in warm, moist air makes the coil pull more water than the drain was sized for. CellarCool ties heavy condensate to the cellar's construction and seal.
Where does the EA code appear on a CellarCool keypad?
The home screen shows the alarm icon; EA itself is listed in the ALr folder of the set menu.
Can I clear a clogged CellarCool drain myself?
Clearing the outside drain line is fine. CellarCool asks owners to get authorization before opening the unit to reach a clog inside.

Still showing EA?

When you book, type the code or the blink count as the controller shows it, add the full model number, and say what the thermometer in the cellar reads now — that gives the technician a head start.
