What LA2
actually means.

LA2 is the cold-side counterpart of HA2: the condenser probe reads below its alarm temperature. It usually means the unit is breathing very cold air, from an unheated garage, an outdoor installation in winter or a cold equipment room. CellarPro's split and 1800 manuals ask owners to contact them about LA2 rather than simply clear it.

What to do when LA2 shows on the wine cellar cooling unit

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from CellarPro's own guidance for LA2 on its wine cellar cooling units. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Check the temperature of the space the unit exhausts into or draws air from.

02

If the unit is installed where winter temperatures drop sharply, note the conditions when LA2 appeared.

03

Book a visit; on VS units the LA2 setting can be lowered in the advanced menu, but only once the cause is known.

Still there?

It usually turns into cellar cooling load and room check. Book with the code and the model number.

What not to do

LA2 is not the cellar being too cold; that is LA. It concerns the condenser, outside the cellar.

What you may
notice with it.

The wine cellar cooling unit problem LA2 tends to arrive with. Answer these at the wine cellar cooling unit before anyone is booked.

Questions
about LA2.

Can I clear LA2 myself?
Check the temperature of the space the unit exhausts into or draws air from. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Does a CellarPro installed outdoors show LA2 more often?
It can, since the condenser sees winter air directly. CellarPro offers cold-temperature options for such installations.
Can I clear LA2 on a CellarPro by changing a setting?
The VS manual shows how to lower the LA2 setting. Doing that without knowing why the condenser runs cold only hides the warning.
Is LA2 the same as the cellar being too cold?
No. LA covers the cellar; LA2 covers the condenser coil outside it.

Still showing LA2?

When you book, type the code or the blink count as the controller shows it, add the full model number, and say what the thermometer in the cellar reads now — that gives the technician a head start.
